
On October 10, 2025, the traditional “Student Induction Ceremony” took place at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held in an innovative format featuring artificial intelligence (AI) integration.
The event was attended by Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Kairat Mami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KazNU; Zhansseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University; Bibigul Dzhaksynbay, Senator of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Jiang Wei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty; and other distinguished guests.Minister Sayasat Nurbek congratulated the first-year students and stated:
“KazNU is not just a university — it is a center of science, innovation, and personal development. As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, young people must be patriotic, hardworking, educated, and just. KazNU plays a major role in nurturing such a generation.”
In his address, Rector Zhansseit Tuimebayev highlighted the importance of both professional and personal growth among students:
“If you want your work to succeed — become a master of it. I believe you will become competent, worthy, and loyal professionals devoted to your country.”
This year, 11,530 students enrolled at KazNU, including 116 holders of the ‘Altyn Belgi’ distinction and 27 winners of international Olympiads. The university also welcomed more than 2,500 international students.
A distinctive feature of the 2025 ceremony was the participation of KazNU’s regional branches, which presented creative performances showcasing cultural diversity and the unity of the university’s student community.
Students of the Bishkek Branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University presented a vibrant performance with national elements, which became one of the highlights of the program.
The performance began with male students in traditional Kyrgyz attire and kalpaks, symbolizing strength and respect for their roots.
They were followed by female students in national dresses, performing a graceful dance that reflected the spirit and elegance of Kyrgyz culture.
The performance concluded with the song “Kyrgyz-Kazak Bir Tuugan” (“Kyrgyz and Kazakh — Brothers”), performed by two female students accompanied by a dance in national costumes — a moving symbol of friendship and brotherhood between the Kyrgyz and Kazakh peoples.The audience warmly applauded the Bishkek Branch’s performance, marking it as one of the most touching moments of the ceremony.
The celebration concluded with a concert program featuring Kazakh pop stars and a youth dance evening, symbolizing a bright start to the new academic year and the spirit of unity among all KazNU students.
