On October 19, 2023, 1st year students in the field of “IT technology” of Al-Farabi KazNU in Bishkek took part in a scientific conference among other universities on the topic: “Social work in Kyrgyzstan: problems and prospects”, dedicated to the Day of Social Protection Workers and Trade Unions of the Kyrgyz Republic, at KNU named after. J. Balasagyn. Tashmatalieva Adelina, Losev Danil, Dzhumabekov Yryskeldi, Mamateminova Nurzhaynak made a report on the topic: “The use of information technology in the activities of a social work specialist,” and Ashymbayeva Ayana spoke on the topic: “Formation of environmental competence in a social work specialist as a necessary quality in professional preparation”, the scientific supervisor was Ph.D., Associate Professor Koshbakova B.M.

The conference was attended by young scientists, teachers, students from KTU "Manas", KSU named after. I. Arabaeva, MUK, KazNU named after. Al-Farabi, social work specialists and all interested parties.
The purpose of the conference was to identify current trends in the development of social work in theoretical and practical aspects to determine strategies for training specialists in social work, as well as attracting young scientists into the academic environment and promoting the professional growth of young scientists and specialists, as well as motivating trade union membership among young people.
The conference was held in the form of a plenary session and the following problems were discussed:
Current problems of social policy in Kyrgyzstan.
Innovative technologies in social work with older people, disabled people, migrants and other categories of citizens.
The role of social work in solving problems of improving the quality of life of the population.
Sociocultural and environmental problems of social work.
Development and prospects of the trade union movement in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Student trade union movement: traditions, realities and prospects.
Professionalization of social work in Kyrgyzstan: problems of development of theory and practice.
Charity, volunteering, social service in the modern world.
At the end of the conference, all participants were awarded certificates. For the best report and active participation, students of Al-Farabi KazNU were awarded prizes (books).
