Presentation

The purpose of the educational program "Data-journalism" -high-quality training of highly qualified personnel in the field of information processing and production with the skills to work with new technological tools and technologies. The implementation of the educational program is aimed at the formation of a professional personality of a specialist capable of: - to interpret and summarize the modern knowledge of the latest theories in the field of big-date and classify the basic concepts of data-journalism; - independently carry out research in the field of data journalism; - to interpret the results of their own scientific research and apply the tools of statistical analysis; - integrate knowledge at the intersection of the sciences of information technology and mass communication in the context of their own scientific research; - ensure the effectiveness of the educational process on the basis of innovative methods of researching the problem of journalism using open data sources; - build your own program for further training and research activities in computational linguistics, data visualization and infographics.

Upon completion of this EP it is expected that undergraduates will be able to:
ON1. Demonstrate knowledge of the Big-date system and its application in journalism; classify the basic concepts of data-journalism about the mechanisms of interaction with convergent media.
ON2. Is able to apply his/her knowledge and solve problems in the field of statistical analysis and their application in the work of a journalist, analyze various types of texts within the research context.
ON3. Design, analyze and implement projects with big data, have basic programming skills in Python, demonstrate the work with information sources.
ON4. Able to integrate knowledge and cope with complex issues of modeling and data mining classification for data mining, necessary for making decisions in various areas of journalism.
ON5. Able to apply his knowledge and manage tasks in the field of machine learning, artificial intelligence and in-depth data analysis using mathematical statistics to create high-quality content in the media sphere.
ON6. Able to integrate knowledge and cope with the complex tasks necessary to search for, obtain and convert data and their integration for intellectual analysis.
ON7. Formulate judgments based on incomplete or limited information in the field of design and evaluation of interfaces for data visualization and infographics for the work of convergent editions and to manage it.
ON8. Plan and carry out experiments, solve design tasks for obtaining, evaluating, integrating and analyzing data in computational linguistics used in subject-oriented information systems.
ON9. Describe, justify and present scientific results on the digital media business using open data.
ON10. They have the ability to adapt, implement, analyze and competently use acquired knowledge to solve problems, allowing them to solve data-journalism problems in a holistic way and demonstrate the results obtained.
ON11. To develop research projects on interactive journalism and digital start-up in data journalism, allowing to completely solve the problems of journalism.
ON12. Generate the data retrieval process by developing the skills for the animation required to create and promote motion design.
